Memories IVHe listened in silence.  It was amazing how even after all this time and at such a young age again, her voice was as amazing as ever.  
She was sitting in the grass alone in a clearing near the home she lived. If one listened close enough they would hear the movement of farm animals in the distance but she still sang. His head tilted slightly as he listened to her. He was not as surprised as others would be if they had been watching as small creatures came from the surrounding trees to her. It was how she had always been.  
He had not realized how at ease he had become to the sound of her voice until she stopped and he snapped Memories IV

Memories Part IIIA small scream pulled from her young lips as she shot up in her bed. Her eyes were wide and glassy with tears. Her small body trembling with utter terror. Small fingers gripped her pillow as she pulled it forward and buried her face into it muffling her frightened sobs. Her form stiffened and her eyes widened as she felt a large hand on her back. Looking up she was surprised to see him there. It was the first time she had seen his hood down. His hair was dark and his skin pale while his eyes seemed to glow in the darkness of her shared room. His voice snapped her from her mind "What's wrong?" she felt herself relax at his voice and she swallo Memories Part III

Memories Part IIWhy did he do this?  Silently he watched the small child as she played in the grass with her smaller sister.  
Why did he do this to himself? Bind himself to the same child, not once, not twice but countless times over countless life times. He was strong enough without her. He was strong enough to defy his adoptive father. So why did he do it? Why did he bind himself to her everytime. No matter what?  She looked up, seeing him watch her and she smiled, waving her small hand at him.  
He blinked.  
That was why....that smile was why he came back to her no matter what.  
That smile that lit up the world, even in he Memories Part II

Memories Part IThe child stared up at the tall figure in the black cloak. The sounds of her parent's shouts still reached her through the bathroom door and it brought more tears to her eyes. Her eyes followed him as he kneeled before her, a large gloved hand reaching for her. She shied away from his hand, as if afraid to be struck. Instead his hand cupped her cheek, thumb softly stroking her tears away. Slowly she allowed him to draw her into his arms and cloak, stroking her hair, giving her the comfort she yearned for. Finally she relaxed. His presence oddly familiar and comforting. As she was finally drifting off she heard his voice for the first time. &n Memories Part I

I fall
No will to catch myself anymore
No will to breathe
to see
to eat
drink
I let the insanity embrace me


Sudden air
a chance
a hand of one that cares
of one who doesn't lie
of one who stays
I grasp yet I still hurt


Everything is in slow motion
I don't care to watch it....
to listen
I just want to hold to that hand
the hand of one who never left


It hurts to smile to laugh
but not with that hand
with that hand the pain is gone
I worry
for my past
for those in my past


I give up
I exist merely to exist
and to prove
that I can survive
as I have before


Let me stand now
Let me see now
Let me breathe now
Let me hear now
Let me live!


I will not fall to this
I should have listened
when I was told by the one I trusted
"Everyone leaves"
I know my hand will pull away
they all do
But I can only focus on the present


Try to breathe
Try to see
Try to survive
Try to exist


But I have changed
and I won't be who I was
I can't. But I will survive.
